For five years, Brighid Greene, a performer in film, dance, and theater, and her partner have called a rental apartment in Bushwick, Brooklyn their home. Despite the steep monthly rent of $1700, they have continued to reside in the area since 2012.

"It wasn't easy," Brighid admits. "We had to make some sacrifices, like giving up our cars and cooking at home most of the time. But we managed to make it work, and we are proud of that."
